BALI IS DYING
WITHIN JUST 100 YEARS
AS TOXINS AND CHEMICALS SEEP
INTO THE SOIL AND THEN DOWN
INTO THE WATER TABLE
THERE WILL BE NO DRINKABLE WATER.
NO SOIL WILL SUSTAIN GROWTH OF RICE
AND OTHER FOOD SOURCES.
Rubbish collected from Ubud and surrounding areas is collected and instead of being taken to the Authorised dumping area, it is dumped just out of Ubud in the large ravines and waterways which wind from the mountain areas down towards the Island's coast line.
When the rain falls, the ravines and waterways start moving the rubbish downstream poisoning all the waterways that service the rice fields and farm areas.
The water is now full of poison due to the toxins used in the making of the plastic bags and containers together with the pesticides used by farmers.
As the water flows through the waterways, it's quality worsens with the addition of raw sewerage from the Villages.
The children of Bali once swam in pristine waters, but are now swimming in a deadly cocktail of toxins and chemicals amongst the rubbish.
And finally - the polluted and toxic water finds its way to the Sea, destroying marine life and then eventually coming back into shore with the tide.
